AmRating is an independent national rating agency serving Armenia and a member of the international rating group Global Rating.

AmRating launched its business in December 2006. The key services provided by the company are bank credit ratings and analysis of the banking sector.

The founder and CEO of AmRating, and all national rating agencies in the group, is Mr. Richard Hainsworth, a Chartered Financial Analyst and recognised expert on banking sector issues.

Richard Hainsworth's first venture was setting up RusRating, a successful national rating agency in Russia and also was setting up in March 2006 KzRating rating agency in Kazakhstan. Rating agencies in Azerbaijan (AzRating), and Ukraine (Ua-Rating), and Kyrgyzstan (KgRating) will begin operating in the near future. All rating agencies set up by Mr. Hainsworth are members of the Global Rating group, which operates in CIS countries.

AmRating, like all national rating agencies controlled by Global Rating, employs only local analysts with solid knowledge of the banking sector in their home country.
